Our story

1951

The Foyer Notre-Dame de Saint-Léonard was founded in 1951 by the Grey Nuns of Montreal.

1973

In 1973, the home obtained its license from the province of New Brunswick and was officially recognized as a long-term care home.

1980-1983

The institution was incorporated in 1980 and in 1983 a board of directors was appointed to administer the affairs of the home.

1990

Towards the end of the 1990s, the building was increasingly failing to meet the needs of a changing clientele, so planning to build a new facility began.

2002

August 24, 2002 was the big day for the move to the new facility.

To date, Foyer Notre-Dame de Saint-Léonard Inc. is a care home comprising 45 individual rooms offering long-term care for people with loss of autonomy and dementia.
